Effective September 2026. Ultimate Vocal Remover is a free tool. This policy explains exactly what does and doesn't happen to your audio file.
When you choose a file, your browser reads it locally and decodes it with the Web Audio API's built-in AudioContext.decodeAudioData — the same decoder your browser already uses to play audio. The vocal/instrumental separation is plain JavaScript math run on that decoded audio data (adding and subtracting the left and right channel sample arrays), entirely inside the page. The resulting tracks are re-encoded into .wav files and made available for playback and download using URL.createObjectURL, a purely local, in-browser mechanism. There is no upload step. This site has no server-side audio processing, no audio storage, and no way to receive a copy of your file even if it wanted to. Everything disappears when you close or refresh the page unless you explicitly download the results.
Loading this page causes your browser to make a small number of standard network requests for the page's own HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files, served from this site, plus the analytics request described below. There are no third-party model files or tracking scripts involved in the vocal-separation feature itself — the separation technique needs no external model or library. Like any web request, loading the page itself necessarily exposes your IP address to this site's hosting infrastructure as a normal part of how the internet works, but your audio file is never part of any network request.
This site uses standard, anonymous Google Analytics (page views, referrer, country, browser type) to understand overall traffic — it does not see or touch your audio file in any way. No ad pixels or cross-site tracking are used.
There are no accounts or sign-up to use the free tool. If you buy the optional Pro upgrade, Stripe (our payment processor) collects your email and payment details to process the purchase — we never see or store your card number. We store your email and purchase record so you can restore Pro on another device later (via a 6-digit code sent to that email, no password). That's the only personal data this site ever holds, and it's never sold or shared beyond what's needed to process your purchase.
